Hey !

First, I am new with the site and there is a lot of info here it is crazy. If anyone want info on how Buddy Rhodes product reacts, I did a few. I am in the verge of using V-Seal Stonelock sealer. I will keep you posted on this.

But my first post  is not for contertop. Is anyone making or tried concrete veneer stone . I am actually in Canada where the temperature varies from -4 to 86 F.

What mix did you used ? What did you used as water…

Applying ICT by Alla Linetsky

1: heat the pieces to be sealed

2: have distilled water and a soft microfibre towel on hand, cut the seams off the towel and cut out a 10 * 20 cm piece

3: put diluted and full strength products into tiny spray bottles. Tiny is important, big ones cause too much overspray.

4: rinse cut towel in distilled water, wring out hard with one hand only

5: spray a small amount of 50-50 ch into the towel, then on the surface just in front of the towel in your hand

6:…

Usage of China Polar Bear csa cement clinker(csa binder)

Polar Bear CSA binder is a khaki/buff coloured calcium sulfoaluminate for use in high-performance cement systems. When used with a suitable source of sulphate and lime, Polar Bear csa binder reacts to produce a composite cement combining the properties of rapid setting, high early strength development, good late strength, increased resistance to sulfate attack, and depending on the mix proportions, either shrinkage compensation or positive expansion. The calcium sulphate content…

Training with Tommy

Hey there,

I just returned home after spending four days with Tommy Cook for a training session in Calgary. It was a great experience and exceeded my expectations. I have been on other concrete training courses and this is definitely the best value for $$$.  I consider Tommy's approach to training "lock and load"!   Your not going to find any detailed training agenda but you are going to do a lot and learn a lot. I figure we casted (gfrc'd) around approximately 17 pieces during…

Application of CSA cement in Dry-Mixed Mortars

HCSA BINDER(csa binder, csa cement) is not a cement, some of clients called it csa additive, it’s a pure csa clinker, the precursor to csa based cements. This binder is a hydraulic, cementitious mineral blend, high in C4A3S-(Calcium Sulfoaluminate crystals) compound. Upon mixing with Portland cement and gypsum components, it yields a very early and strong cementitious matrix.
This binder was designed to be blended with Portland cement and anhydrite to make…

Edging

How do you deal with edging of the finished product? Especially the underneath part. Mine always comes out jagged.

new countertop grinding to what pad and a sealer that gives the wet look of concrete?

I am a few stages into my countertop, I left off with 400 wet pad and added a slury coat. I have heard that if I go too far with the pads and too smooth of a finish some sealers will not adhear. Is this true? It is quite smooth now, what pad grit should I get to? and any idea what sealer will give me the wet look? Thanks for your time.

5050 Poly Top

can someone give me some pointers on how to correctly apply this sealer? i have tried a brush specifically designed for polys and a 1/4 mohair roller as the instructions suggest. the brush leaves brush marks and the roller leaves a million tiny air bubbles that when dry creates a unsmooth surface. i have tried 3 diiferent methods with sanding in beween to smooth out the surface imperfections each time. i am not skilled enough to spray or have the proper equipment. i do have a compressor and… Continue

GFRC in one pour

Hi everyone, I have been doing a lot of searching about this subject and have seen on these forums that some poeple do GFRC in one pour.

What happens if you have the glass fibers at the surface, do they get gound off with the polisher or do they stick out?

By the way, this is the most amazing resource for concrete countertops I have found on the web, it is really helping feed my current obsession. Thanks!
