Hello,
I am asking for comments from you all to get some thoughts on what applications my new product might be used for.
I am crushing and pulverizing granite countertop remnant (quite a labor process!) in order to provide a pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled product. The difference in what I am doing from others is that I provide a fine granite sand and 1/8" aggregate for finish work which make the surface very hard and provide rich naural colors. I've done some successful tests with res…

This week we added Blue Concrete as our latest advertiser and we are now sending tweets to Twitter. I've never used twitter before but I am excited about the possibility of spreading the word about the Concrete Countertops on twitter. People on twitter are beginning to follow us faster than I expected. For those of you offering training the twitter connection should increase your exposure to your event postings. Later, tweets will be sent when new videos and photos are posted as well. Our twitte…

Sorry folks I screwed up my back, so I'm sitting around drinking coffee posting a whole bunch.
I'll get a life when my back allows.
I like 8 different entries into the 2009 competition. It may say more about me than it does about the quality of all the work. So take it all with a grain of salt.
Bad pictures hurt good work.
Professional quality photos make even marginal work look better.
We can all learn from that.
Here goes in numerical order not hierarchical order.…

As we all know you have to start somewhere and that is me now! I have been eyed down and found that concrete is the answer. I live in the Square State but My idea is not, trying to find balance between traditional Colo, and the Modern east and west. So I'm using a blended approach to the counters in the kitchen Black/Grey Granite mixed in with a contrast of Black Mocha Concrete in the wet and more detailed areas. This in theory will give me Options of Prep food trash pass through, built in strai…

I would like to have a place where we can submit plans in a sketchup form and bounce around ideas on proble solving.
My first problem is the rainbow shaped sink. Really worried about reinforcement, and how it breaks up the slab in the middle. There will be a faucet centered behind the sink. Any suggest would be great, I have a sketchup file posted that can be downloaded and modified with your thoughts.…

I us v-seal stonelok E3 and 2K as one of my sealer options for my clients and am still not totally satisfied with the application results I get. Anyone have any good techniques they have picked up on?

Maybe not all quiet. plenty of behind the scenes goings on. More pieces of the puzzle falling into place. Not much time till late at night to do much about it except read, and get back to grinding up some sample pieces of the overpriced concrete that started this whole mess, and trying to keep up with phone traffic. You might say I do my best thinkin' while grinding.
Meanwhile on connections, vows of silence, and incredibly well worded posts backing many of the things that got us into this mess…

I seen so many fibre opic counters in the last year I had to try it. I made a 16'' x 20'' sample. I used and old fibre optic light that my wife got for chritmas years ago. It was a pain to get the fibres into the holes without twisting the all up. I used a scc mix in a brown color. I was very happy with the results. I want to make a coffee table for the office, but I want to go with the stamp look. Has anyone ever tryed doing fibres with stamping? I hope to get pictures by the end of the week.

Hi all,
Right now I have too many blogs...
So I will send you to them rather than get too involved at this site (for now).
My
Slab-Fab-Studio blog is about casting concrete and designing welded steel furniture to accompany it.
My
Billy Sproul blog is about my welded sculpture artwork, and various other interests.
Do check out my Flickr photo stream on this blog. There is some overlap with the Slab-Fa…

I started working on a concrete sign that I want to setup in front of my shop. I'm making it 3D, the letters and the borders will be rasised 1''. When I get it done I will post a picture. Here in Canada we have short summers so when we can go work outside all other things get put on hold.
