has anyone had a play with ductal from lafarge. i used it last year on test vanity to see how it would turn out. the surface was cast on thin painted sheet roof metal (colorbond steel out here), the front return was against melamine board, and the sink was cast against a mold rubber. all three textures came out very different. the rubber was the best and really smooth with very little flaws. the steel left tiny little bug holes everywhere and very uniform. there is no steel re-inforcement in,

Lets communicate that way, or my cell is 5177190146, give me a call. There will be a lot of cultured marble guys there since there main show will be running just after and if you have a pass for ICE, then you can get into their show and vice versa.
These cultured marble guys have perfected mold making. A friend of mine who makes bodies for 18…

Fellow concrete enthusiasts,
I have been browsing your forum, and have been impressed by the wealth of information freely shared.I am a wet caster, interested in expanding my mix design horizons to include scc and gfrc. I am at a preliminary stage in designing mxes with loclly available products, and would greatly appreciate any feedback regarding materials, and batching technique. I do not anticipate spray coating, as I will be casting into rubber molds on a vibrating table. I thank you all in…

Does anybody have a mix design that tops 65% locally recycled content. Aggregate being 100% broken bottles, fly ashclass c from the power company accounting for 20% cementious plus addmixtures and fibers. Please share where I may be missing the boat. Am I better off skipping the locally part to get a higher % recycled?

I've got a question. How can one confirm if a kitchen countertop with pass FDA approval. I mean, if you get a multi-family project with, let's say, 100 kitchens how do you knowthat your creative eliments like glass special concrete or resins or whatever will not lead you down the road to a massive lawsuit! Where to check what is ok to use for food prep areas!?

Sorry folks I screwed up my back, so I'm sitting around drinking coffee posting a whole bunch.
I'll get a life when my back allows.
I like 8 different entries into the 2009 competition. It may say more about me than it does about the quality of all the work. So take it all with a grain of salt.
Bad pictures hurt good work.
Professional quality photos make even marginal work look better.
We can all learn from that.
Here goes in numerical order not hierarchical order.…

As we all know you have to start somewhere and that is me now! I have been eyed down and found that concrete is the answer. I live in the Square State but My idea is not, trying to find balance between traditional Colo, and the Modern east and west. So I'm using a blended approach to the counters in the kitchen Black/Grey Granite mixed in with a contrast of Black Mocha Concrete in the wet and more detailed areas. This in theory will give me Options of Prep food trash pass through, built in strai…

Maybe not all quiet. plenty of behind the scenes goings on. More pieces of the puzzle falling into place. Not much time till late at night to do much about it except read, and get back to grinding up some sample pieces of the overpriced concrete that started this whole mess, and trying to keep up with phone traffic. You might say I do my best thinkin' while grinding.
Meanwhile on connections, vows of silence, and incredibly well worded posts backing many of the things that got us into this mess…

I seen so many fibre opic counters in the last year I had to try it. I made a 16'' x 20'' sample. I used and old fibre optic light that my wife got for chritmas years ago. It was a pain to get the fibres into the holes without twisting the all up. I used a scc mix in a brown color. I was very happy with the results. I want to make a coffee table for the office, but I want to go with the stamp look. Has anyone ever tryed doing fibres with stamping? I hope to get pictures by the end of the week.
