I will have to agree with Brandon and Alla, we are asked to push our creativity with each job. Today I met with clients that are opening a nail salon, they have given me freedom to explore. Yes we agreed on a basic concept, I can't show up with purp…
I looked for my recipe yesterday, couldn't find it.
If memory serves me, I used 4% SB09 Red and .1% Super Violet. You don't really need much violet at all, but it really helped shift the color to more of a burgundy red wine color.
I would also sug…
We have that happen with our slag mixes, I tried UV light, put them in the sun for a week, they faded so slowely....I finally just soaked them with peroxide and moved on. So, I would suggest the peroxide to oxidize the slag...works much better.

I used BlueConcrete SB09 Red with a touch of their Super Violet, and had a real nice red wine color. When I get back to the shop I will see what the %'s were.
I would suggest giving Tamra Doolyn a call from Surface Gel Tech. She has some pretty cool products to make very crisp clean lines, etching, and coloring.

SICK just SICK.... this got my laugh of the day, thank you. lolololol Now I have to see if I can top a Sex Tattoo Man, in a seductive pose, spooning a Pabst Blue Ribbon.....and on a nice bench too. lololol I love it.
Hi Jon, I saw your post from March 26 about your Black Galaxy mix. I have a client who is looking for something similar. The Spectra T grade Black sand I'm not sure about. Looked on the Blue Concrete site and saw only Q-6, Q-10, Q, and F grades, no T grade (Spectra Quartz right?). Thanks for any help Darren
Hello Jon, sorry I missed your call back. I was polishing an apron sink at the time. Coming into winter it occurred to me that storage temp. could be an issue. Also, I currently heat my shop with wood heat. It's fine during the day, but the shop gets pretty cold overnight. I usually cover curing pieces with heating blankets until the heat gets cranked up in the morning. Are there any cold weather issues/ precautions I should take with counterhard/first sealz?
Hey John... I ordered some stuff from Blue Concrete, since I needed to get going. I would love to swing by the next time you guys get together just to be a fly on the wall and pick up any information (which would be a lot, I'm sure) I could.
I'm curious about some of the products, since I have called twice, and I got different information each time - which is kinda disconcerting. I was told that super sealz is their acryllic compound, and that super flowz is their liquefaction compound... then today, I was told the opposite.
I thought I had it sorted out, but now I'm confused, and nervous about mixing any of this stuff together, haha. I left you a voicemail, if you get a chance, give me a buzz back. Thanks a ton.
Yeah, pretty much everything (other than Portland and sand) other than sealer - I still have some EAP left over. I'd like to try GFRC out, I have a texture hopper, and am dying to try it out...
Any advice you care to offer on the mix is greatly appreciated, I don't care about brand-X or brand-Y so long as it works. My immediate project is small, 1.5ish cubic feet. I'll have to figure out what to do for the dye (looking for a dark brown finish)...
Hey Jon - we talked on the phone a couple of months back. I've got a couple of projects coming up that hit me pretty much flat-footed, and I'm hoping I can take you up on your offer to stock up on some materials (assuming you have any to spare at the moment). I left you a voicemail, and figured I'd try to ping you here as well.
Hi Jon. I haven't seen an e-mail yet. I wasn't sure if you're just really busy or if I got the wires crossed when I gave you my e-mail address. Here it is again just in case: crouchconcrete@olypen.com
Thanks for your help and willingness to share info.
