Been in concrete for years and acquired my shop for all my equipment. And any real estate is cheaper than O.C. But Hey, the Master that I learned from does his tops in a Chicken Coop! No Lie.
John a .22 will turn that street light off, no,no, I didn't mean that.
I have some glow stones from Blue Concrete in my BBQ. I use a photo cell wired in a series parallel configuration with a 4way switch for the main power (that way I have three poi…
The only problem I have encountered with glow stone is ambient light. Street lights and neighbours lighting will change the effectivness of the glow stones. I put some in a outdoor BBQ but the street lighting was enough to not make the backyard dark…
Ambient Glow Technologies has the resin based ones (they claim the glow last longer than the glass ones?). The glow last around 10 hours or so when they are fully charged but the high glow diminishes after 20 minutes then slowly fades. They are expe…
Yes, I do not put them throughout hte whole mix....boy that would add up. I seed them. But, to compare....you have a nice light element that really looks cool. Some other options include the fiber optic lights...and they are way expensive. I have ye…
I have thought about putting them in, never done it yet. Do you "seed" them in (I assume you would adhere them to the mold before you place) They are a bit expensive to add in the mixer. Do you use as random, or make a pattern? Do they glow all nigh…
BlueConcrete has them.....we use quite a bit of these in projects. Clients really love them. I talked to some potential clients yesterday, outdoor BBQ surround, we will be putting them in their top as well. It add a cool element, IMO.
We use the "n…
EAP will not be under $1./ sqft. unless you buy quantity, the Nano componets are too expensive. One thing I can tell you is that EAP is a very thin film system and if you apply a coat or two 1:1 coats that will leave a DFT of about 2 mls, slurry over that to fill any pinholes if there are and allow that to dry and sand off the excess slurry and profile the EAP for the final coat (removing about a ml.) then do the final coat ir two 1:1 coats then you will end up with a film build of about 4-6 mils. This is about the thickness of a sheet of paper and thinner than your current system. One reason why the EAP is successful in this industry is that it is thin and not plasticky looking.
Your sample went out on the 10th and should be there today. If you want to you can e-mail me at bob@surface519.com or call 800-475-1975 as I don't always have time to get on the forum.
The bright green counter top overlay was done with a product called Milestone HPC from Seattle. This particular liquid resin allows you to dose your concrete with higher concentrations of universal tint. I get all my liquid pigment from Benjamin Moore.
Great tables, by the way. That looks like a fun mold to make!
