Salt water itself (with a neutral PH) does not harm concrete (good concrete that would not decay on its own). As long as there are no freeze thaw problems (which can be designed for), no iron in your aggregates, and no steel reinforcement in your ...

The FDA does not approve sealers for food contact. Sealers are FDA complient if they meet certain requirments. I've sealed a few thousand yards used in food preparation buildings, I don't remember what the sealer was nor the requirements.

I use ½” rubber mats to pad delivery carts. They come in 2’ x 2’ sections meant to lock together and form floor mats, cut them with a band saw. Very tear resistant.
I tape them in place with a tape made for silage bags, its white (no marks) and v...
Thanks for the info, I really like your course and the work you do. Would it be possible to pay for an extra day and get some GRFC training as well? It is a long trip from BC and I would like to maximize my time down there. Thanks again Patrick
Hi Mark, my name is Patrick I live in BC Canada. I see you have a course coming up this fall. Unfortunately I can not make it to that one. Do you have any idea when you are running the next course? I have a small flat work company and have done a few wetcast counters. Does your course cover only grfc? How much time is spent on mold design? Thanks for your time, Patrick
Hey Mark, Cera Tech steared me to you with my interest in their/your? eco-roc. I've been using Ultimax's CSA's topped with ICT sealer and looking to simplify.
A few questions are,
If I stick with ICT sealer is there enough free calcium and appropriate unreacted byproducts for a good reaction?
Where will it ship out of?
Availiable when?
Love your greenest top video! Way to go! Prasad
Alkali activation is old hat by now. Ceratech is using silicate activation. Good for them for making it work. Does your gag order also mean that you have a financial interest in the company or its product?
Mark, this Firerok cement is actually a geopolymer with a silicate salt (potassium or sodium) activator. The original patents on slag- and fly ash-based geopolymers have expired, so expect to see more such products. I'm working on blending one myself. Call me if you want to discuss.
Hey Mark,
Well... life has not been nice lately, the family has been facing serious illness' and a loss of a nephew. I had my knee opened up again and some parts replaced, so I'm down for awhile.
I have some kitchen tops in the shop that I'm trying to finish for a friend (I poured them before my surgery). So I stand as much as I can...
Other then that I'm PEACHY .
How about you?
Do you do anything differently when applying stonecure to a ground finish? I sent off a couple of samples of a ground finish and the client said she tested wine and mustard and the both left "spots" I am getting ready to seal a bar top that has a ground finish a just want to get it right. My own testing has proven well. I was thinking of really laying if on thick, is there a max? Also i have a slight dip where one if the inlays came away, barely noticeable except by feel, 1/8" max in about a 3" diameter. Was wondering if i could level it out with the stonecure?
Hi Mark, I see that you are having good success with the UV Nano sealer. I am interested in purchasing this system but want to see it applied before I fork over the $3000.00. Would it be possible for me to come to your shop sometime and watch you seal a countertop or sink? My email address is decocretellc@gmail.com
