Dave,
Thanks for the poll, I never noticed that before.
I would love to see a qualifier along with the results- How long have you been in business? Since that poll was taken, how many of the people that are charging less than $75 are still in busine…
Man! I got all excited when I started reading this thread, but I am real disappointed. What's with all the civility? No name calling, no fuck offs, isn't this a concrete forum? WTF? This is way to civil for a Monday morning disagreement, didn't one…
It's concrete,
it stains
it cracks
it's heavy
it's completely unpredictable
you will probably hate it

Good luck, Acid stains are tough ones.
It looks like the face mix may have set-up too much before you put your back in. If that is the case, and you didn't use a release, the bond between the face and the mold could be stronger than the bond of concrete to concrete. If that isn't the cas…
Hey I meet you last week at the show in Vegas. We were talking about waterproofing the bath tub. Can you please tell me again the admixture you used? Something like CM 9700 by Emry?

I am letting folks know I have a small web site set up to sell samples of ceramic cement, calling it Bombercrete. For large orders you can just call me and i can arrange however much you need. I am suggesting people start with the Premix, I am selling it pretty cheap and its the easiest to work with.
was wondering if you guys ever run into problems with your bathtubs or sinks with getting UPC (universal plumbing code) stamps or stickers. Any problems with inspectors giving you a hard time? I am running into a problem and know guys that make hand made copper sinks and install them without a UPC stamp on them( with no problems with building inspectors and which is bullshit). These building inspectors are total knuckle heads when it comes to concrete. Any advice would be great thanks Jeremy!
Jeremy since you were kind enough to offer suggestions on my templating project I thought you may be interested in seeing some finished photos. We ended up being able to use the subtops they installed as templates which made it a little easier was a tedious project though and terrible time constraints. Anyway feel free to check out the pics on my site under commercial portfolio. thanks again for your spending time to offer advice.
Hard to say at this point. They had some millwork problems. The millwork company made walls for my tops to go on but so did the contractor. The walls have to look a certain way so they are trying to decide if they can modify the walls that are already in place to look like the walls the millwork guys made. I have my doubts that they can. On a positive note I may not really have to make templates. The millwork company made subtobs that my tops sit on which were cnc cut and are fairly bad ass in my opinion. I get to just bring them back to my shop and frame up off of those. This is of course after a test fit on the job site. It was interesting to see those things layed out in the shop. The tops certainly dont look that big in the bar itself.
