Question on polymer: I notice that most everyone is using Forton's VF-774 and some use Smooth On's douMatrix-C

What others are there? has anyone used Poly 600(the one advertised in the ConcreteDecor Mag)
Poly 600 says it's 51% solids
5gallons costs around $100.00 about half the cost of Smooth On

Will any PVA polymer 45%+ work? or is there a difference?
What about a dry polymer?

Alla,
What do you prefer to use polyplex, forton or LiquidZ
Whats the price range of LiquidZ and who sells it?
Blueconcrete.com = Liquid Z

Thanks for the info Jon I will be getting some LiquidZ
Is ADVAcast 555 compatible with LiquidZ? I see Blue sells their own super P

Off the topic
I read the article in Conc.Decor on PVA fibers you said its your number one recommendation followed by a PVA-glass combo
what is the PVA-glass combo?

Also, do you cast in place often? if so what is your loading of PVA per cu.ft.?

Alla, I was thinking of getting a polymer that is closer to home. It's mainly for slurrying and some additive when I do BR pressed finish..and keep Forton for it's intended use. W.R Meadows has Acry-lok and Intralok..I take it you prefer Intralok? Any other thoughts on the stuff?

I was considering (Durex or maybe they go by Durabond) as well. They are in your neck of the woods...

Thanks

I've used Forton, Polyplex, Intralok (by W. R. Meadows) and LiquidZ. For my application, LZ works best by far. But then, I don't spray a face coat.

Thanks Alla,

That's why I mentioned the Acry-Lok it's Meadows' high solids acrylic polymer.

I knew you stopped using Intralok and that the LZ would be slid in there :) I will eventually be going that route..the system & sealer as well but i'm planning on using up my Forton and 555. I was also thinking of having another acrylic that would be strictly BR pressed..something that sets up good and hard for larger voids, is relatively cost effective and closer to home. If possible.

Thanks!

Maybe i'll find out how much LZ to my door is...
