Concrete Countertop Forums

The Social Network for Professional Concrete Artisans.

Dave got me thinking and I asked in another forum,

With all that is going on in the economy. How is everyone looking towards the future (summer)? Is anyone seeing any new leads coming about? Business seem to be picking back up?

Here in North Carolina, we are seeing some improvement. I have seen builders coming into the showroom that haven't been around for a while.

Been watching and it looks like the tract builders are picking back up. But most of that work is cheap low end granite if that at all.

Still doing mostly renovations and seeing more interest in concrete over other materials. Just hard to get some people to come off the money. I don't and won't sell it cheap.

Hows it looking around your town?

Unfortunately my Factory Lease is $310 a DAY.

I am here in Michigan, and I am the busiest I ever been. I've been cutting a lot of deals and that is keeping me busy, but typically this is the time of the year that I sink deeper into debt. After 3 years, I finally realized it is better to make a living than to charge a premium price.

No Worries Mate...I'm always looking on the bright side.
In between me posting that and now, I've had an order of 45 buckets Color Hardener to match a pool coping.
That will keep me busy for tomorrow.

The only thing that keeps me sane is knowing that I didn't run my business into the ground..the economy "happened" regardless of what I did.
That and a good supply of Kiwi beer in the fridge :-)

cheers john

I have never been so busy. I'm putting in 60 hour weeks and can't even stay on top of everything. I just sold two jobs this week alone. If it keeps up like this I might have to start turning down jobs. I am grateful and thank the universe or god or whatever you like for such wonderful opportunity's. It truly is all about your state of mind (lots of hard work too!).
